Benefits of Polyurethane Dispense

01

Durability

Polyurethane is a highly durable material with an expected life of multiple decades depending on the application. Indeed, polyurethane will usually outlast other materials it’s used alongside.
02

Energy-Efficiency

Polyurethane can provide high thermal resistance, making it highly effective as an insulation material. Proper insulation results in huge energy savings when it comes to heating and cooling.
03

Eco-Friendly Material

Because polyurethane is so energy-efficient, it reduces the drain on natural resources. For this reason, it is considered an eco-friendly material that improves sustainability.

FAQs

01

What is polyurethane dispense equipment?

Polyurethane dispense equipment - also called plural component equipment or meter-mix dispense equipment - pumps, meters, mixes, and dispenses two-component polyurethane (PU) at precise ratios. It covers a wide range of industrial applications: foam insulation, foam used in manufacturing certain products, foam-in-place packaging, structural adhesives, sealants, and concrete lifting foam. Bolair carries proportioners, dispensing guns, transfer pumps, and complete plural component dispense systems.

02

What is a plural component sprayer and what is it used for?

A plural component sprayer pumps two separate materials (part A and part B) from different drums or containers, at a precise ratio (such as 1:1 or 2:1 by volume), heats them if needed, and mixes them before spraying. The plural component sprayer configuration is determined based on the type of coating being sprayed. Common uses include polyurea truck bed liners and floor coatings, spray foam roofing and walls, industrial corrosion protection, pipe line coatings and automotive underbody coatings. The Graco XP70 and Graco H-XP3 are examples of high-pressure plural component sprayers available through Bolair in Canada.

03

What is the Graco XP70 and how much does it cost in Canada?

The Graco XP70 is a high-pressure, pneumatically (air) driven plural component sprayer designed for two component coatings including quick set epoxy and hybrid coatings. The H-XP3 is a hydraulically driven plural component sprayer designed for fast-set polyurea coatings and two-component fast set polyurethane applications requiring precise ratio control at high output. It supports a wide range or mix ratios by volume and operates at up to 3,500 psi . The XP70 can operate up to 7000psi. Canadian pricing varies by configuration - contact Bolair for current XP70 and H-XP3 pricing, availability, and package options including heated hose, transfer pumps, gun and a complete spray trailer or truck package. Bolair will be able to determine what the most cost effective plural machine is needed for your application. There are several other models available.

04

What is the difference between polyurea and polyurethane foam spray equipment?

Polyurea coatings categorized as quick set, react in seconds and require a high-pressure, heated plural component sprayer (such as the Graco Reactor EXP and HXP sprayers) capable of precise heated-spray application. Polyurethane spray foam systems require less heat and lower pressure than polyurea and can use the Graco Reactor E and H-series machines. Both are plural component (2K) systems, but polyurea demands much higher spray temperatures and higher pressures. The choice of equipment depends on the material's reactivity and your application - Bolair can advise on the right system for your specific product.

05

Can polyurethane dispense equipment be used for concrete lifting?

Yes. Expanding polyurethane foam is widely used for slab lifting, void filling, and soil stabilization (polyjacking). The process uses a low-pressure, high-density two-component foam injected under the slab via small drilled ports. Equipment for this application includes similar equipment to spray foam equipment but uses and specially designed slab jacking gun for sure in the injection ports. Bolair knows slap jacking with foam and can guide you with the correct equipment and use.

06

What industries use plural component spray and dispensing equipment?

Plural component (2K) spray and dispensing equipment serves a wide range of industries: construction (spray foam insulation, polyurea floor and roof coatings), manufacturing that requires coatings or pour foam, sealing, foam-in-place door panels), oil and gas (pipeline corrosion protection), marine (hull coatings), packaging (foam-in-place void fill), and infrastructure (concrete slab lifting). Bolair works with customers across these sectors throughout Canada, from custom-built rig packages to standalone machine supply.

07

Can I rent plural component spray equipment in Canada?

Rental availability for plural component and polyurea spray equipment in Canada is limited - most contractors purchase or finance equipment given the high upfront cost and frequent use. It doesn’t hurt to ask Bolair as there may be situations where rental is feasible for both parties. Bolair offers financing options on new equipment, which is often more practical than renting for recurring projects. For one-time or trial applications, contact Bolair to discuss short-term options or used equipment availability.
